About WRA Pickleball

The Waynewood Recreation Association now has two lighted pickleball courts (Court 1) for use by the members. This court is for both pickleball and tennis use. 

 

Please adhere to the established WRA Pickleball rules:

 

  •  Pickleball play should be limited to the hours of 8 am to 9 pm all year long. 
  •  No music should be played on any court after 8 pm. Music should be played at respectable levels at all times.
  • We ask that all Pickleball players invest in “quiet” paddles. A selection of paddles can be found (Don't order the wooden one) Here!
  • Here are some suggestions of quiet-tested paddles at multiple price points:
  • Less than $50 - Amazin' Aces Signature (Amazon Link) 
  • Less than $100 - Bantam EX-L or TS-5 - (Amazon Link)
  • Less than $200  - Joola Ben Johns - (Amazon Link)
  • Please be mindful of noise levels generated while enjoying the courts and please use courts for their intended purpose as we aim to be good neighbors to those nearby.  

 

It's important to note that the Board cannot police the courts or facilities and relies heavily on members and neighbors to assist in the enforcement of the WRA rules on our grounds, and facilities.

 

Courts are reserved through the WRA reservation system. Reservation hours are open between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. all year long for pickleball. From April to October the courts are lit until 10:00pm, but only tennis may be played. Reservations are suggested and take priority over "stop in" play.

 

Procedures for Making Reservations

 

a. Courts may be reserved up to two weeks in advance, and may be reserved for up to 90 minutes a day per membership.

b. When completing the online reservation for this court, please indicate if you are playing tennis or pickleball. If it is pickleball, please indicate one court or two.

c. Court 1 is also used for tennis, so please store nets alongside the side fence (closest to the houses) when you are finished playing. Brakes should be in the "on" position to lock them. This helps prevent the wind from blowing them around.

d. Do not use/lower tennis net for pickleball use. Only use the nets provided for pickleball.

e. Do not hang or sit on the tennis nets.

f. To keep courts secure please shut the locked alley gate behind you.
